CampChaser was a site I started developing in 2013 for campers to find and share their favorite camp sites. The project started out of my frustration at trying to find good resources on camp sites, particularly backpacking sites. It seemed to me that a lot of this information was passed word of mouth between backpackers or occasionally answered on forums, and a central wiki-like site would be helpful. At the same time I was also learning custom Wordpress theme development, so building the kind of site I wanted to use myself seemed like the right thing to do.
I'm no longer maintaining or developing this project, but it was a great learning experience in using Wordpress, Advanced Custom Fields, Gravity Forms, and Leaflet.js. Also some other sites, like Hipcamp filled much of the void I was looking for when starting the project.
